Re: Envy 700-230qe Windows 10. No speakers or headphones are plugged in.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to install this W10 IDT audio driver, restart the PC and see if it resolves the problem.

This package provides the IDT Tempo High Definition Audio Driver for supported desktop models that are running a supported operating system.

File name: sp71717.exe

Crackling audio IDT DTS SOUND +

I have an audio problem, then before upgrading to Windows 10 or the anniversary update the audio working properly after updating I noticed right away that the sound is crackling
this problem it is tied to the bass it
for example it happens when I'm watching a video on youtube and step to another video without pausing the video the other videos that I will see will have this problem of crackling and the only way to "solve" this problem is to stop Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation (audiodg.exe).
But after the problem recurs. happens very often and it is very annoying my sound system is IDT DTS Sound + I tried to reinstall the drivers with the latest version and I also formatted the pc but no dice the problem persists ...
I only noticed that the problem is more "feel " when the bass setting is higher or when I change the audio setting to my liking
especially the problem plaguing the 62Hz and 125hz channels
I kindly ask for help has also become really annoying because without my custom settings is really horrible.

Also here are not the only one with the same problem since it's full of people who complain, please push the update to sp71717 driver to a solution.

Thanks.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply and provide the basic steps in the process, but I've already checked everything the OS has in place in terms of tools. There is an issue between the hardware in this computer and the update to Win10 that is causing HDMI input audio loss and HP has done NOTHING about it. 9/10 people don't use the HDMI input for anything, so because it is isn't as big of deal across the user base, HP has chosen to ignore it. They are well aware of the issue, but haven't provided any corrective action. As a result, this functionality is completely lost for all of those with the 1st genersation HP Recline PCs with the Win10 upgrade.

As a result, I just purchased the Sony PS4 Wireless Headphones which allow me to get the audio straight from the PS4 and bypass the crappy HP hardware configuration issue.

I am sorry for being so basic, but we never know the knowledge level of the member requesting help.  So, I begin with the basics.

The truth is, HP is not providing Win 10 drivers for older models.  During the upgrade to Win 10 many of the generic drivers were included in that version.  At this point, they furnish the drivers for new models that come with Win 10 installed from the factory.  I don't have any idea if how far back they will go.

And because HP is not giving adequate consideration to legacy HP owners, I will not purchase another HP product going forward. That's a shame, too, because in the last 2 years I've purchased 4 HP PCs and an HP printer. I also am the procurement officer for a Dept of Defense agency and will be sure to insert this sustainment scrutiny of HP when our $14.5M purchase of new IT is made next month.

Cannot get microphone to work

Hey guys.  Today my Skullcandy Slyrs broke, and I've got my backup Skullcandy Ink'd headphones here to game with.  I've tried every possible combination for default device on playback and capture, as well as communication device and while I've gotten sound to work (despite that not working for about an hour) I can not get this mic to work.  I've tested it already and it works with other devices, I've done all the possible defaults (which was horrible as my computer says I have 5 mics yet I'm using only 1 and have disconnected devices off.)  I've done the "install generic audio device" solution to replace the IDT audio codec, yet didn't have the right options listed because apparently HP just can't have anything be the same on every computer to make things easy, yet I did install both options for other drivers on the computer and neither made any of my 5 ghost microphones work.

I have spent about four hours of my day working on this, and I am in desparate need of my microphone.  I'm about ready to offer a paypal reward for whoever fixes HP's god-awful mess on my computer (how is there 5 microphones and 4 audio devices when only one audio device is connected, and why can't I plug my headphoens in and have them work like everyone else?)

Thanks.

No sound from rear audio Jack since Windows 10

Since upgrading to windows 10, the rear audio jacks does not work. Since this is a media computer, not having the surround sound system working is frustrating.

The left front jack works. The rear jack stopped with Windows 10

Hi:

What is the full model number or product number of your PC?

The product number can be found on the same sticker as the serial number.
