New video card: Powercolor pcs+ HD7850
I have no problems with my computer but I installed a new video card for some games I want to play in a higher resolution. I installed the card and got "no signal" and a blank screen when starting up. I tried both hdmi ports and also the on-board hdmi port. Nothing worked. The fan on the video card is working though. I took out the video card and plugged into the on-board hdmi port and my system started as normal. I cannot tell if the unit started post with the new video card because my system does not beep when starting up. I am technically competent so I tried the obvious things and I am sure I installed the card correctly numerous times while trying different things.
Troubleshooting thus far:
-Disabled on-board video
-Uninstalled all drivers and software for on-board video
-Installed new card drivers and software
-Played through the bios but every single "solved" similar topic regarding the bios settings do not work on mine because I do not have those settings on my bios
The FAQ section for powercolor says:
"This status happen because mainboard could not detect UEFI bios of display card correctly during booting process ,so , please check website of mainboard vendor for newest BIOS (release after Oct. 2012 ), and update this bios to solve this status ."
I have searched and am unable to see how to do this with my current bios. It seems pretty easy for windows 8 bios systems but I do not have options to enable/disable UEFI or legacy.
I searched MSI to possibly upgrading my bios but cannot even find my mother board on their site for support!
I searched HP and it says that I have the most current bios (is that true??).
